PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Project of social housing at Orla 7 Street is meant to interpret the style of designing apartments during the last century. Conclusions that appeared after analysis have led to create 25 totally different and unique apartments. Even though they are connected by a certain typology that clearly appears on the façade. It allows the observer to immediately notice the concept and function that this form follows. Because of staircase shape of south façade, it was possible to maximize the lighting in apartments, while the greenery around terraces provides fresh air and gives privacy. It creates sort of vertical gardens, to which the tenant has access, in the city Centre. There are also created parking spots for electric cars, whereas on the roof it is proposed to use the new technology of Tesla – Powerwall 2, that works directly with roof tiles and transfers sun light into energy that can supply the whole building. Building facades are made from brick and refer to the original structure of former social housing, while windows are filled with reflective glass. The facades instead are fully uncovered, to show the miscellaneous typology. The proportions of the shape are fully result of typical Łódź’s housing.
