PROJECT DESCRIPTION
BUILDINGS CONNECTS
Throughout precise analyses, it occurs that Sao Paulo needs entirely new kind of design in its city. It should connect better infrastructure with open spaces, but in the way it creates nice public, private and semi-private spaces as well as prevent the fear of robberies. Big impact of those have the typologies and their qualities of the buildings. It defines the density and integrate people with each other.
Our proposal of new development connects all those features. It is filled with lots of greenery in between, brings more water inside the city, what finally gives the fresh air and makes the city healthier and more ecologic. People living there can use a lot of different parks, especially the big one which connects the Railway Station with the Culture Area. The Culture space is proposed to allow people from all surrounded neighborhoods (like favelas, middle-class, downtown) to meet with each other and make the boundaries between them disappear. It is situated in the middle of the Site, which is also filled with office spaces, hotels and of course housing. The boulevards are surrounded with commercial pavilions, where the people can have a walk by the river.
The concept is avoiding high-rise buildings as it makes the streets unattractive. The closer is to downtown, the buildings rise up slowly. It is kind of alternative that integrates public space and new area with the tower-based typology. Because of allowing river to go through, we are solving the problem of drainage and wastewater. Also, the emissions and urban heat are much smaller because of the fresh air that water and green provides.
Project integrates mobility with public spaces. It has very good urban impact for the surrounding neighborhoods and economy as it is also creating lots of new jobs. What is the most important, it gives a big architectural and cultural value to society and city of Sao Paulo.
