PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The design of the complex is focusing around connecting areas around. It creates permeating spaces throughout buildings, developing public, private and semi-private spaces. Because of its volumes, it gives us main alley that goes through the middle of the site, giving the pedestrians a lot of new different functions around them while walking. They can either enter the restaurant, go for a cooking class, have a drink in the terrace, get a quick café solo or just walk through the enjoy the nature at the park, with surrounding sculptures and beautiful view of the lake.
The form contains of restaurant with cooking school. Those two are well connected interiorly and exteriorly. It is a result of adding different types of pergolas and roofs with transparent glass in specific spots. The mass is constructed with the steel frame system, which allows us to maintain the inside area however we want, without any boundaries. That lets to make different types of elevations, that do not need to be structural or load-bearing.
Landscape around the form has been designed very carefully with a high reference to existing site and facilities around. On the north we can find rice fields, while on the south corner there is an eco-field. We keep and preserve the currently standing on site building. Also, we let the water pour into our plot through new canals and little pools. This move gives the fresh water, air and keeps the right drainage on the site, but what is most important – it allows people to be surrounded by it all over the place and fully experience Albufera while eating, cooking or just simply relaxing.
